Wolves hit by Edwards blow

March 8th, 2011

Wolves have revealed that midfielder David Edwards will be out of action for at least a month with a back injury.

The 25-year-old featured in the 4-0 victory over Blackpool last month, but was forced to sit out Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Spurs at Molineux because of his latest problem.

Following medical scans this week, Edwards has been told that he faces at least four weeks on the sidelines having suffered a stress reaction in his spine.

Steve Kemp, head of Wolves’ medical department, revealed: “With these findings it’s not worth risking him carrying on playing with the injury as it could develop into something more serious.”

Edwards will miss the Premier League games at Aston Villa (March 19), at Newcastle (April 2) and the home clash with Everton (April 9).
